I want to show how a game is created by showing how a wood arrow trap was created in my game in this page.
I'm happy if those who have never created a game because they don't know creating a game well although they are interested in creating a game.
First, I prepared images of wood arrow and wood arrow trap. Here, I prepared simple images. I also prepared a sound effect for stamping trap. I use the same sound effect as the sound effect which sounds when deciding button is pushed.
The reason was that the images and sound effect became useless if wood arrow trap didn't work. I was going to prepare better images and sound effect after I confirmed wood arrow trap worked well.
Then, I wrote a program to make a wood arrow fly and hit some character when a wood arrow trap is stamped.
Let me explain what is a program easily for those who don't know it. Some orders, for example "Show a image of wood arrow" is written in a program. A computer follows the orders.
You can consider using some tool to give some orders to a computer easily.
Unity and Unreal engine are famous.
Well, I confirmed how wood arrow trap works.
But, nothing flied.
Something created doesn't often works well first.
We should suspect that a program is wrong because computers always follow a given program correctly when something doesn't works well.
After I corrected it, I confirmed how wood arrow trap works again.
It worked well at that time.
But, the function was lack because a character didn't get any damage and any messages weren't shown when an arrow hit it.
It is difficult to make something perfectly at once because many things often have something wrong like the above. Therefore, I think we should add a little function step by step to make something.
Well, I improved the program to give a character some damage and show a message when an arrow hit it.
It worked perfectly.
Finally, I changed the images and the sound effect.
I added many elements repeating development like this to create a game.
